Hi Team,
We're reaching out about an important update to how USD wallets work on the Maplerad platform. This change affects all businesses using our card-issuing infrastructure, and will require action on your end after the update goes live tomorrow.
What's Changing
Today, every currency on Maplerad operates with a single wallet that handles all transaction types. Starting tomorrow, we are introducing a dual-wallet structure for USD only — splitting it into two purpose-specific wallet types:
* SPEND Wallet — Exclusively for card transactions (card funding, withdrawals, etc.)
* TREASURY Wallet — For all other USD transactions, including FX, stablecoin, USD deposits/transfers, and more.
This separation gives you more precise control over how funds are allocated across different transaction flows. All other currency wallets remain unchanged.
What Happens to Your Existing USD Funds
At rollout, your existing USD funds will automatically be placed in the SPEND wallet. A TREASURY wallet will be created for you automatically when it is first needed.
We strongly recommend reviewing your balances and migrating funds to the appropriate wallet (SPEND or TREASURY) as soon as the update is live, to avoid any disruption to your operations.
To move funds between wallets, use the wallet funding endpoint:

Important: This feature is not yet available on the dashboard. Fund migration and wallet management must be performed via API at this time.
Rollout Timeline
* Go-live: 4PM GMT+1, Wednesday 9th April, 2026
* Expected downtime: Approximately 1 hour during the rollout window
* Dashboard support: Coming in a future update
Recommended Steps After Go-Live
1. Review your USD wallet balance via the API.
2. Determine how you want funds distributed between your SPEND and TREASURY wallets.
3. Use the wallet funding endpoint to migrate funds to the appropriate wallet.
4. Audit any internal logic that references USD wallet IDs or transaction routing, and update it to account for the new wallet types.
If you have any questions or run into issues during migration, please reach out to our support team — we're happy to help.
Thank you for building with Maplerad.
